Retired office worker Susan Coultas visited Hands That Heal when severe back pain stopped her enjoying her golfing hobby.
The Challenge and Solution
The Challenge and Solution
“I was getting severe lower back pain. It was stiffening and going into spasm,” said the 62-year-old from Pocklington.
“The treatment Lisa gave me included massage and stretches designed to build up my supporting muscles. It was very successful and within a few weeks my back was almost back to normal, with no pain at all.
“I can now enjoy all the things I did before – not only my golf but going to the gym, swimming and yoga too. It’s given me my life back.”
Susan added: “Lisa always seems to go right to the spot which is causing pain and start working on it. The first thing she did was get me to do some exercises at her clinic while she watched, and the way I moved helped her understand which part of my back wasn’t working.”
Physiotherapist and Hands That Heal owner, Lisa, also prescribed Susan a home exercise and stretching regime which helps to ward off any relapse.
Like many of the people seen in the clinic, Susan’s back pain had been affecting her for a long time. It was only when it put her out of action and interfered with her favourite hobby that she sought help.
