Fiona Moverley
Fiona Moverley, from Hessle near Hull, is in the full flow of a second professional squash career, and is shooting up the ranks, having been selected to play for Great Britain in 2017.
The Challenge
The Challenge
Her dream is to break into the world’s top two dozen players and even, eventually, aim for the world number one slot.
She originally turned pro at the age of 18 but had to stop playing professionally because she ran out of sponsorship and funding. At that point, she was ranked 43rd in the world.
She got a ‘proper job’ instead, as a school games organiser in Hull. She married and then separated, before re-evaluating her life and deciding she had unfinished business in the sport, taking it up again in 2014.
And nothing now seems to be able to stop her, as she storms up the rankings, paling her previous performance into insignificance. She represented England at the World Games in Poland in 2017, as part of Team GB.
The Solution
And Hands That Heal is fuelling her journey, with regular physiotherapy sessions and biomechanical analysis, to help her adjust any tics in her posture or movement while playing, which could hold her back.
